The truth is that no one is responsible for how you feel and the results you get, except you. And this is the best news I could ever share with you because it’s all within you. It’s all in your control, it’s not outside of you, like it often feels. If you want to feel happy, confident, loving or whatever other emotion you desire to feel, on the regular, it's available to you right now no matter what the circumstances are in your life. How’s that for empowerment?
Same goes with results. Maybe you want to make 100K in your business or even a million, or is it to find the love of your life or be in the best shape and health of your life? Yep, you are responsible for the results you get, and no one else. So you don’t have to wait around “for things to be different,” you get to be the change you want to see in your life by thinking thoughts on purpose that lead to positive emotion and inspired action.
It's all up to you. How you feel. What results you get in life. It’s the best news ever because all the power lies within you. Within your own mind.
It's based on a simple universal truth called the model. Everything that happens or doesn’t happen in life fits into the model. But you have to practice it to really apply it to your life. The concept is simple, but it takes hard work to apply to your life. And by the way, YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS!! And, isn’t it hard going NOT to have your dreams come true? So, if you can do hard and not get to your dreams OR you can do hard and get to your dreams. Which are you gonna choose?
The Secret to the Universe— your happiness and achieving any result you desire is a universal truth called the “Thought Model—”
C-> T-> F-> A-> R
Which stand for the following:
For short the C's in your life. Believe it or not they’re neutral – if you choose for them to be. Circumstances trigger thoughts. So be aware of how you’re allowing yourself to think based on your circumstances.
Can be triggered by your circumstances. There’re sentences in your mind. You get to think anything you want about any given situation, subject, and circumstance. It's all up to you. Thoughts cause feelings.
Are generated by what you’re thinking. All action is fueled by emotions. Even inaction is fuel by emotions. You feel confident, so you decide to reach out to 100 new potential clients. You feel discouraged and self-doubt— likely you won’t reach out to 100 new potential clients. Think of your goal. Are you’re feelings fueling the actions you want to take to achieve that result or not?
Are the things you do or don't do that are driven by how you feel. Remember how you feel is based on what you are thinking.
The actions you take or don’t take get you the results you have in your life. Are you getting the results you want in your life in every area of your life? If not, then you need to take a look at your thought and you thought models.
You create your reality not from what's outside of you! And this is the best news ever because you never have to feel at the mercy of someone, something, your feelings or a circumstance. After all, you create how you THINK, how you FEEL, what ACTIONS you take or don't take and all ultimately the RESULTS you get or don't get in your life. It’s the secret sauce to a happy life.
If you want to be happy, you've got to depend on YOU to create your feelings of happiness.
That's so empowering because you can get the results you want without needing someone or something outside of yourself. You just get to think thoughts that make you happy. You don't have to wait around for someone else to make you happy, and this applies to every other area/or goal you have in life. For example, it’s not your job’s responsibility or your mate’s responsibility to make you happy. It’s not your circumstances, or the acknowledgment from others, a degree, a certification, or your money’s job to make you happy.
Happiness is an inside job!
You know how you know this, imagine when you wanted some result in your life (money, marriage, a business, a degree, etc.) and you thought that if you got it you’d be happy?
Do this exercise with me.
Right now, make a list of 5 things you wanted that you got. Did all of those results achieved make you happy in the long run? If you’re being honest with yourself, the answer’s no. Unless, you’re practicing this work, managing your mind and doing thought model everyday. Maybe then you’ll answer yes because you’re aware of how to choose happiness on purpose. But for most of you there’ll be at least 1 of those results/ accomplishments on your list that didn't end up in you’re feeling happy, right? And you could have sworn that if only you got that thing, or accomplished that goal you’d be happy. Maybe you felt happy in the short run, but what most of you will find is that not soon after the happiness fades. Why? Because you didn’t choose thoughts that made you happy. You relied on the outside circumstances, results and other people instead of counting on yourself to be happy, no matter what. That is giving your power away. I’m teaching you how t o use the model to be happy and get any result you want, regardless of the circumstances, that you may have no control over, or little control over, or don’t don’t want to change but want to feel better.
For example, let’s say that you decided to do a training and you felt disappointed in the information and the delivery of the program. This has “happened to me” too—OR more accurately put, how this has happened “FOR me.” Nothing “happens to me,” unless I give it the power to. When I say something “happened to me,” I put myself in the victim mode and lose all empowerment. When I say something like this “happened FOR me,” I take all my power back. Then, I can easily find all the ways that this was exactly what I was supposed to be doing all along. Because after all I did it, they did what they did, and it happened like that, it’s part of history and there’s no way to undo it. So arguing with the reality of the situation is pointless because I know I’ll lose every time only 100% of the time. It serves absolutely no no purpose to regret it. But what does serve a purpose is to always look for what I learned from the experience. There’s always something that we learned— even if it has nothing to do with the content of what the training was supposed to be on, am I right?
What you can learn from what I learned:
I learned how to be disappointed and not give up. I learned to find another solution to the education I still wanted to learn. I learned to have an ever stronger abundant mindset by not “worrying” (which serves no purpose) about money lost in the training. I felt good that I spent that money. I felt proud, instead of beating myself up that I took a risk and went after this training, even if it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be.
Overall, I can see the value in this experience, by how much I learned about myself and how my confidence had the opportunity to grow to new heights. Even if the training didn’t provide me with the education and experience I was looking for, I can always see the value in it for me, and that my friends, makes me very happy.
You see how happiness comes from your thoughts and not your circumstances— in this case the circumstance are the “facts” about the training— namely, “the information I was told I would learn was not delivered.” I could have chosen to go with thoughts that triggered lots of negative emotions, but instead I DECIDED, after processing the initial disappointment (DO NOT skip this part- don’t stuff feelings- it’ll never work)— “You know what, I want to feel happy regardless of the training, in what way was this the best decision for me?
You make think this is delusional and argue, “That’s just Pollyanna thinking, I’m not gonna pretend I was happy with the training when I wasn’t.” But if you’re thinking that you’re missing the point. I processed the negative emotion related— and then I DECIDED ON PURPOSE what I wanted to think and how I wanted to learn from this by telling an empowering story that’s actually, 100% true. The point is, if I want to be happy, and I do, and you want to be happy, and you do, then just like me you have the liberty, freedom and ability to CHOOSE to think whatever the heck you want about any circumstance. And most times, guess what, you can get to— happy all with the power of your mind and how you CHOOSE to interpret the circumstances of your life. The reason I say “most times,” is because sometimes we as human beings want to feel negative emotion, for instance during grieving. And this is a subject I’ll talk more with you about soon— on how to choose negative emotion. So do not wait for your circumstances to make you happy, they won’t, and if they do it’ll be short lived.
It sounds like this, “If I only had this (fill in the blank) I’d be happy.” That’s just a hogwash thought. It’s scientifically not true.
Is this work to change your thoughts— therefore your feelings action and results? Yes. Is it achievable? Absolutely!
And it’ll make all the difference in how you feel about going after what it is you truly want in your life. No one can bestow a FEELING or RESULT onto you and your life. All the power lies in how you manage your mind.
You always have the power to choose. And most importantly, the power to choose how you/re going to THINK—what FEELINGS those thoughts will generate for you, and what ACTIONS will be inspired because of those feelings. See how you’re in total control of your results?
Mastering your mind is the single most important skill you can learn because everything starts from a thought. You wonder why you feel the way you do, you need to check what you're thinking? You want to know why you take or don't take action on your goals and dreams? It's because of how you're thinking and therefore feeling. You want to know why you're getting the results you currently have and not the ones you actually want? It's because of your thoughts. Just do a model and you’ll see for yourself.
So you're in charge. The thought is the secret to ultimate empowerment.
I love this quote from Abraham:
Tell everyone you know:
“My happiness depends on me, so you’re off the hook.” And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they’re doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what.
And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel — and then, you’ll love them all. Because the only reason you don’t love them is because you’re using them as your excuse to not feel good.”
The only reason you or anyone ever does or wants anything is because of the way you think it will make you feel. BUT HEAR THIS: it’s not what you do, or want that will make you feel good, it’s your thoughts.
Stop using anything as an excuse not to feel good.
Learn how to manage your mind. Do the work on your mindset. Change your thought patterns and get ANY result that you truly want in your life. It's so possible it seems too easy to be true, but it’s not!!! Intellectually speaking it's easy, the model and the concept of mind management are easy. The practice is what takes work. Day by day practice, do a model, and you’ll be amazed at how far you’ll come in a week, a month, a year and beyond.
