What Do You Want to Use Your Life For? Knowing This Will Help You Make More Time.

What Do You Want to Use Your Life For? Knowing This Will Help You Make More Time.

It’s a big question right? What do you want to use your life for?

When it comes to making more time in your life you really must answer this question for yourself.

The reason this is important is that when you know what you want to use your life for, you can live intentionally. What's the point in teaching you how to make more time in your life to make more money, have loving relationships and a lifestyle that rocks if you don’t know what to do with that extra time?

6 Steps to Beat Procrastination & a Little Technique Called NET

6 Steps to Beat Procrastination & a Little Technique Called NET

I fell off the wagon again… the procrastination wagon that is.

I’m in Brussels for the first time right now doing my re-certification as a practitioner of Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET). I’m excited to be here for the next 3 days and visit the city. So far all I know is that Belgium's home to the best french fries in the world, ridiculously delicious Belgium chocolates & waffles, and that you must see a statue called the Manneue Pis (according to my NET buddy who’s from here). No one can tell me why this statue is popular here, but just that “everyone goes.”

Ok so I didn’t see Manneue Pis, but I did see Jeanneke Pis. AND I want to confirm that yes I tried the fries and they were fantastic. Big deal coming from an American, no?

Celebrate Your Power to Choose and Overcome Learned Helplessness

Celebrate Your Power to Choose and Overcome Learned Helplessness

Have you forgotten about your ability to choose? How do we do this?

When I was studying psychology at UCSB for my undergrad degree, I learned about a study conducted in the 1960’s by the famous psychologist Martin Seligman, which clearly illustrates why and how we forget our ability to choose.

Learning the Minimum Baseline Mindset to Live Your Most Sexy-Kitten-on-Wheels Life

Learning the Minimum Baseline Mindset to Live Your Most Sexy-Kitten-on-Wheels Life

Are you flaking on your ambitious plans for yourself on the regular? If so you are probably experiencing what I like to call "all or nothing & all at once mini-traumas.”

You set the bar way too high in all areas at once, end up NOT following through, feel loads of shame and give up on those dreams way too fast. In your mind it feels like:

“If I don’t do all of it, I can’t do any of it.”

Let’s decide together to be Perfectly Imperfect

Guilt-Free Downtime

Guilt-Free Downtime

Are you feeling guilty for reading this because you are “supposed to be doing something else right now? “

If you answered yes, you may be guilty of blurring your downtime with thoughts about what you should be doing?

The common thought I hear over and over is: “I should be doing something else.”

I know this seems like an innocent thing to think. But I've found it's one of the trickiest, undercover, joy stealing, time robbing, relationship ruining, and health risking thoughts you can have.

It pretends to motivate, it falsely promises productivity. But it’s a total lie. It actually does the opposite.

When you think, this thought over and over, eventually it will take over your time and your life and even if you have free time it will never feel like that because you won’t be present. You’ll be too busy being stressed about what you should be doing and you will resent all of the time in your life being about “having to get stuff done,” and this my friends will lead to a less productive and joyless life. I’ve been there.

What's the Real Reason You're So Busy?

What's the Real Reason You're So Busy?

Consider for a minute the idea that busyness for many of us busyaholics IS our coping mechanism.

Slowing down is hard, and I don't mean, emptying your schedule to make time for nothing (though I highly encourage that too), I mean for a lot of us, busyness lets us put our minds and energy towards creating or solving puzzles we feel more comfortable with. Oh they can be annoying, difficult and time sucking, absolutely, but the act of putting our energy towards solving them does serve to put our attention elsewhere.

Ooooh the Attraction of Shiny Things

Ooooh the Attraction of Shiny Things

Do you have a clear “to-do” list that you’re always behind on?

If you’re a creative type, like me, likely you have many great aspirations across your life, and what you tend to do is prioritize your actions, without clarifying your priorities. I know, this sounds like the old “who’s on first” skit from Abbot and Costello, but stick with me.

Are You So Busy You Can't Get Anything Done?

Are You So Busy You Can't Get Anything Done?

Do you procrastinate? Do you get stuck in needing it all to be perfect, otherwise you don't do it at all, or you spend hours perfecting something that a B- quality of work would suffice? Do you have a to-do list a mile long, but can't seem to make much progress? Are you always coming up with great ideas, but have trouble following through on them? Do you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day, because you worried all day long that you should have been focusing your attention on what is important to you, and can't wait for the evening time when you can stop and relax?

Constraint Is Expansive

Constraint Is Expansive

If you're anything like I used to be, you won't like the sound of the word constraint. I'm gonna change your mind!

Every Thursday morning I go to my podcast feed looking forward to the next bit of wisdom I’m going to receive from one of my favorite coaches.   Several months ago, I opened my feed to a podcast called “constraint”.    And I closed my app and didn’t listen.

What's the Real Reason You're So Busy?

What's the Real Reason You're So Busy?

HI, MY NAME IS TIFFANY AND I'M A RECOVERING BUSYAHOLIC.

It started out innocently enough. I am an ambitious woman. Hey, don't judge, ambition gets a bad wrap. All it means is the desire to do or achieve something, typically requiring determination and hard work. So, if you are reading this, chances are you are an ambitious woman too. For me what that means is, once I set my mind to something I make it happen. I love that about myself. However, this strength has also been one of my greatest weaknesses. Interesting how perceived weaknesses are just strengths over used.
