Now, you may be rolling your eyes at me. Maybe you set amazing intentions for 2020, and then they all flew out the window a few months in. You might be hesitant to create more, and I hear you.
But, as I’ve said before, we must face the unavoidable fact that success is planning. No matter your education or socio-economic status, there’s magic in having goals and setting specific targets.
I often hear a lot of push back around planning your time. But let’s set the record straight. Yes, being in the present moment is “the way,” but it doesn’t mean NOT planning for your future or setting any goals. That’s too black and white. It means plan as much as you can to be in alignment with how you want to spend your time to be MORE able to live in the now. When you map out your goals and time frames, it actually produces more freedom to live in the present moment.
The way I overcome my primitive brain and it attempts to stop me from doing things that feel uncomfortable but ultimately lead to my goals is to invite a conversation. I talk to my mind. I listen to what it has to say, thank it for it's concern and assure it we're safe to move on. Then I get to work at creating what it is I truly want in my life. Talk to your mind and do it anyway!
